Inspect Brakes. Replace components as necessary. (The present chart indicates this inspection must take place at the first 10,000 miles then every 10,000 miles thereafter .)

The corrected mileage interval inspection must take place the first 10,000 miles then every 5,000 miles thereafter.

Servicing (Exhaust Gas Recirculation EGR), 740 pg 106, 760 pg 108

For the 740 , The present information indicates; The EGR valve should be inspected every 12,000 miles (20,000 km) and cleaned every 24,000 miles (40,000 km).
For the 760 , The present information indicates; The EGR valve should be cleaned after 48,000 miles (80,000 km) and then at 24,000 mile (40,000 km) intervals.

The corrected information for all models is; The EGR valve should be inspected at the 60,000 mile (96,000 km) inspection and thereafter cleaned every 20,000 miles (32,000 km.)

Servicing (Timing Gear belt), 740 pg 103

The present information indicates the following; The timing gear belt should be adjusted at the 600- 1,200 mile (1000-2000 km) inspection for B230F/FT engines or 5000 miles (8000 km) for B234F engines. We recommend that the belt be replaced every 50,000 miles (80,000 km).

The corrected information is; The timing gear belt should be adjusted at the 600-1,200 mile (1000-2000 km) inspection for B230F/FT engines or 5000 miles (8000 km) for B234F engines. For the B234F engine only, the first timing gear belt adjustment at 5000 miles (8000 km) will be done free of charge. We recommend that the timing gear belt be replaced every 50,000 miles (80,000 km) for both engines.

The present statement for Automatic Transmission fluid has a deleted footnote 6

Fuel requirements, Refueling (Detergent or Injector Cleaning Gasoline), 740 pg 47, 760 pg 49 The present information is; Detergent or Injector Cleaning Gasoline The use of specially formulated gasoline which contains so called "detergent injector cleaning" additives is allowed and recommended by Volvo. The use of these detergent additives in gasoline has been shown to be effective in reducing the buildup of certain injector deposits. The correct information is; Deposit Control Gasolines - Volvo strongly recommends the use of gasoline that has been refinery blended with "Deposit Control" additives. These additives are specially formulated to prevent the buildup of certain injector and intake system deposits. Fuels containing "Deposit Control" additives are usually advertised as such and may have additional claims to "clean injectors and intake valves" or similar wording If it is not clear whether the fuel contains such additives, ask the station operator for further information regarding the detergency of their gasolines.
Driving Economy, Carbon Deposits (Carbon Deposit Buildup), 740 pg 56 and Break in Period, Fuel Requirements (Carbon Deposit Buildup), 760 pg 48 The present information is: NOTE: Volvo does not recommend the use of fuel additives as they can adversely affect engine performance. The correct information is; NOTE: Volvo does not recommend the use of bottled or canned additives as they can adversely affect engine performance.
