omdat ie gewoonweg VERSLETEN was !!

No comments, just appreciation, like you I was always puzzled by the
lyrics, I believe this site can help me enjoy the music more and more.

Hi,Iam thrilled to enter 1 of my favorite band's website and I couldn't have been happier than to be here.I simply love almost all works of TULL,Iam really mad about IAN ANDERSON'S style of writing.I feel he is the best lyricist of all the contemprory rock bands, its INDUBITABLE.Iam longing to see TULL's action in INDIA. My respect for his command over the ENGLISH language is IMMENSE. My favorite numbers are:- AQUALUNG,BUDAPEST,WEATHERCOCK,HEAVY HORSES, THICK AS A BRICK,HARRY'S BAR,TWO FINGERS AND MANY MORE. I thank you for having given me this wonderfull opurtunity to describe my favorite band. Keep up this good work.ALL THE BEST. With Love ARAVIND.

Dear Friends, I want to thank all of you visitors for stopping by and
signing this guestbook. Your comments really are encouraging. Without
the help of many of you it would not be possible to collect all this
information on the lyrics of Ian Anderson. Kind regards, oh, and stay
tuned, for there is a lot of new information added soon. Take care, Jan

I am 18 years old and I'm about to graduate from high school in Muscle
Shoals, Alabama. My aunt and my dad listened to Jethro Tull when they
were in school and they still do, so I was brought up on it. My
boyfriends is practically obsessed with the band and with Ian Anderson,
since his dad is, too. He listens to it a lot more than I do, but we
both really enjoy and appreciate the music. I'm a jazz saxophone player
(I'm actually going to double major in jazz performance and literature
and minor in Latin and philosophy) and the flute parts in Tull's music
inspired me to pick up the flute, so I now play jazz flute as well as
saxophone and clarinet. This is really a great page. I enjoy it a lot
and I visit it often. Thanks.

Beautiful site!!! For years I've been singing,"a hin-a-humma hin-a-humma way out west. All that fits in the pockets of their Sunday best..." in Part of the Machine. Now I can finally rest! I've been a Tull fan since 1973,and have had the absolute blessing of meeting Ian in front of the Edinburgh Playhouse where they were playing that night. I was vacationing there and staying a block from the theater. I saw some people running and I asked,"What's going on?' When a girl said,"It's Ian Anderson," I flipped. I ran like the wind, and there he was, in all his glory. I said,"You know, I came 3000 miles to see you." He lifted one eyebrow and said dryly,"Oh, is that all?"Everyone laughed. I'll never forget it. Keep up the good work.

awhile. Please feel free to e-mail. Keep it up!!

Jan,
Awesome work!! Being relatively new to the net I never realized there
was anything like this on the greatest band alive. I've always wanted
to speak with Ian and ask "What did you mean by that?" I guess this is
quite close to that. I see you've been a fan as long as myself(since
the late 60's). I'm from Pennsylvania, first saw Tull in Cleveland,Ohio
(Thick as a Brick Tour) in the early 70's. Last time was back in
Cleveland (Catfish Rising Tour)in the early 90's which my son bought us
tickets for my 42nd birthday. After the concert he said"I knew they were
good by growing up hearing your records, but never realized how good
until seeing them live!" Another generation sold!!! Have also traveled
to Pittsburgh,PA and Buffalo,NY to see the Minstrel but it's been too
long! Please send any info when available on any upcoming USA tours.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

I am so impressed with this JT site. The very first song I EVER looked
for on the Web, was JT's Living in the Past, and then Fatman. I
expected to find 0 hits on Tull, and instead find your well crafted,
complete treasure chest of information. I thought I was one of only a
few who "dug" JT, and have often wondered who he was, and wanted to know
more about his music. You have provided this for me. Thanks.

Could you add links to MP3 songs, for each set of lyrics. I'd love to
hear some of the (previously unknown to me) religious type songs, now
that I've read the words.

I'm not joking, I really appreciate this site, and your work on it.

Fantastisch!

This site is delightful, i really appreciate the work you've put into
it. I've been a Tull fan for a long time, as well, and it's nice to
finally see ALL the words for old favorites that have eluded me. Being

Having been a tull fan since the early days, I too am mystified by

listened and tried to make sense of where he was coming from.
But any way i believe I will stop by this site again.

Hey...
...I've been a regular Tull listener only a month. I bought the re-
mastered 'Thick as a brick' album - it's mind boggling. (It contains
also a live version and an interview). Your homepage was surely the
best way to introduce me to Jethro Tull. Keep it up - and thankx -
Antonio (I'm already looking forward to go to buy 'Aqualung' and
'Minstrel in the Gallery' tomorrow - after your great explanation).

This is the first time I have visited your site. Very, very good. I have
been a fan since I first heard "Bungle in the Jungle" (believe it or
not!). I have been fortunate enough to attend 13 concerts including the
convention in Burlington, Vermont. I love all things TULL and have found
that all the fabulous sites on the net was like opening a door to all
the fans around the world who also appreciate this band for their
enormous talent. They will NEVER be surpassed.

Hello fellow Tullian (is that what we call ourselves?),
My name is James Patrick Albanese and I live in Essex Junction,
Vermont,USA. I love all things Tull and appreciate the effort you must
have spent in setting up this site. The 1997 American Jethro Tull
Convention was right here in Essex Junction. That was a great day for
all who attended both the convention and concert afterwards. I will
start browsing through your annotations and see what someone else's
thoughts are on Ian's lyrics. Until next time--JP Albanese

wereld echt kleiner maakt.

Pierre

time with my Tull albums playing whilst reading the annotations, so
that I will further my understanding Ians words, I have always found
his songs to be very sexual in content, but with out fully
understanding why, you page will certainly help. Thank you once again.

Keep up the very good work.

Very interesting. I will return to get more informations and find out
more about Ian Anderson and his band. I haven´t paid attention to Jethro
Tull lyrics. The song was the first attraction but now I became curious
and I want to know more about Jethro Tull. I´m Brasilian and as you see
I don´t have a good English but I think that´s very important not just
listen to the music but try to understand what it means.

Just found your post to the Saint Cleve Cronicle. I intend to spend
more time in the future browsing your site. From what I've seen so far,
I like it. You have obviously spent a lot of time with it.

My site is in it's infancy. I intend to add reference to Tull someday.
I can't imagine trying to "compete" with the work you have done. May
well refer to your site.

Will check in again later. Keep up the good work.

What a HIT!
I have been searching all the other Tull-sites (well, not all but quite

I´m a swedish long-time fan with an increasing addiction to IA music

Will tell my fellow Tullamaniacs about this one!!!

Hi Jan,

Thank you for this tremendous gift, for a very long time I thought I
was unique in the profound reverence I have for this band. I have
always found this music playful and inspiring, now matter how down I
got I could always raise me spirits by listening to Jethro Tull.
Musically and lyrically this music is uplifting and so often cuts to
the very bone of what life as a human is all about. If I were every
stranded on a desert island and could have only one piece of music to
ever hear again, it would have to be Thick as a Brick. I could never
tire of the fascination of this piece of music and could not imagine
knowing I'd never hear it again!

Hi! I'm writing to you from El Salvador in Central America. I've been a
fan of JETHRO TULL practically since I was born, listening this music
thanks to my older brothers (i'm 30 old,and the older one was born in
1953). This site is excelent (I can't find a better word to describe
it). Excuse my english. LARGA VIDA AL MAESTRO IAN ANDERSON.

Yes-- good 'site. I also agree with your statement on SCC; invariably
we must on occasion resort to a bit of browbeating to weed out the
imposters, while endeavoring not to offend or condescend.I look forward
to perhaps contributing in the future. Art S.

Hi Jan,
just to say as a relatively new net user but long time Tull lover
(I first was fortune enough to see them in Salisbury early 69)that I do
appreciate your site. Having been somewhat out of touch for many
years its good to know that the band are still going strong with what
seems a substantial following.
Anyway, regards

Great web site!

I read the St. Cleve Chronicle and I am glad there are other Tull fans.
Having been a Tull fan since the late 60's, I now in my 40's listen to
Tull all the time. I have seen them perform 10 times since '73.
Unfortunately, they don't come to Denver, CO any more.
They should play at Red Rocks amphiltheatre again or go back to the
small venues like the Light and Dark tour (my favaorite #9).

Keep up the great work. I will be impatiently waiting for the next
release, be it JT or IA solo.

Kind regards,
Ken Herrmann

Paul -&- Lucy Ward   26/Jan/1999:02:44:23
Great site. We have been Tull fans since 1970 and while living in
London saw the Broadsword concert at Wembly and as you might guess - IT
WAS GREAT! I didn't know anyone could sing so long and play the flute
non-stop and not loose his breath.

Then, 12 years later in Atlanta, Georgia, Tull at the 25 year concert
was EVEN BETTER. I,m sure you have the box set - outstanding. This
guy is unreal in the best sort of way.

After all this Ian has common sense and he is down to earth. I wish
more people in this world could be the same as far as attitude.

Kinley Hardin   25/Jan/1999:09:11:55
Dear Jan,
I am also a lover and student of Ian's lyrics. I am age 25 and live in Arkansas, USA. I have all of Jethro Tull's albums. I have attended six concerts during three tours. I hope and pray for more. As far as I know The Jolly Jethros have only played in Arkansas twice. So I drove many hours to Chicago concerts twice. I love Tull!
Thank you for designing this reference webpage. I look forward to learning from it and contributing to it possibly.
My friend, who travels to Europe, told me that Ian is nicknamed the "Flute Man" in Europe. He's enough minstrel for me!

I am very pleased you have already done what I intended to do. I was
going to write a page dedicated to Nightcap. A brilliant work
(especially the latter half of the album, I visualize the whole play of
the "failed" passion play but yet IMHO it make a passion play look like
the disaster) I do have a reccomedation though. You really need a
background. That dull grey makes your page look boring, and
uninteresting. A few animated gifs, or even a site map with a
navigational bar instead of your plain text. If you would like I am
very willing to help, or with your permission, I will mirror the site
in my own image give you full credit for all the work. I really do
applaude the effort you have put in. Backgrounds, buttons and
banners, are NOTHING compared to what you have accomplished, but still,
it would make your GREAT website perfect.

You have done a great jobb putting the lyrics on "paper" available for
the fans. I have no plans to have lyrics on my web site. It must be one
hell of a job. It is good at least someone _will_ do the job.

I want to link to your page so that visitors to my page can find the
lyrics on your page.

Fine guestbook you got by the way. I got to have one too!

My job has me in front of a computer with web access much of the day, so
I have devoured your page.

I have been a Tull fan since my late teens, and in those few years
listening to Ian's lyrics has been like waking from a wonderful dream:
just as the warm, pink mist of sleep is begining to evaporate. I know
something special has happened, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

But, Jan, now I understand! Thank you, thank you, thank you... and thank
you once more.
